It’s ALL About The Brows
Pencils- If you have an already full brow, it’s easier to make more precise hair drawings to achieve the shape you want with a pencil. Always brush your brows upwards then fill in with the direction that the brow hair is growing in (i.e. from bottom to top). Next, line your eyebrow shape softly, I usually start at the inner bottom of my brow and work my way to the tail, which I like to elongate with quick sketch like strokes. Lastly brush them out again a few times and put gel in them if needed. My all time favorite eyebrow pencil is Seena cosmetics in the color Mink — this is one of those ultra-skinny pencils.
Slanted tip pencils- This is another option for a pencil. Typically it’ geared toward beginners and is overall easier to use. A slanted tip pencil doesn’t create tiny hair-like strokes because the angled tip pencils are thicker. My two favorites are the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Defined Brows pencil or the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting pencil. Both are thicker and don’t take as much time or detail to fill in your brows.
Powder- Used for volume and a softer look. Use a slanted cosmetic brush and fill in the sparse areas. I sometimes even use my brown eyeshadow. I find that using powder is a fast way to build my brows and to shape them. The slanted brush gives me the right angles that I need for filling in my shape. Lastly, I brush them out again to make sure there is no loose powder. I like to use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo.
Gel- I’m talking about tinted gels. These are fast and for when you are on the go. I also tend to do a couple of layers on them but remember, these are not meant for detail or shaping just think a bit of a tint to enhance what you already have. If the gel gets on your skin clean the area around your brow with a Q-tip if needed. My favorite is the Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel - it has microfibers that thicken your brow hair while it tints.
